Impact assessment and exploitation of PREFORMA results (input deadline: 18 Nov. 2016)

One of the tasks that had to be carried out in PREFORMA during these last two months of 2016 is to prepare a report to be submitted to the European Commission describing the impact that PREFORMA has generated to date for the memory institutions and for any other relevant target groups and the plans for the sustainability and exploitation of the main results of the project.

New Preservation and Conservation (PAC) Centre for digital preservation


IFLA is pleased to announce the creation of a new Preservation and Conservation (PAC) Centre which will focus on digital preservation and digital sustainability. The new PAC Centre is based at the National Library of Poland.

Tomasz Parkola, new Scientific and Technological Director at the Impact Centre of Competence

Tomasz Parkoła, from Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Centre, has been selected as new Scientific and Technological Director of the Impact Centre of Competence. He succeeds the outgoing Director, Rafael Carrasco, currently Seconded National Expert at the ERC.

OUTLINE

Pre-Commercial Procurement (PCP) is a competition-like method designed to steer the development of innovative solutions towards concrete public sector needs. These solutions are developed by external suppliers that are awarded a contract through a phased open procurement process. In the last years, the PCP instrument is becoming more and more popular within the public sector and the European Union increased support for groups of public procurers working together on joint PCPs under Horizon 2020.
