IMPACT-es

Description
----------- 
The IMPACT-es diachronic corpus of historical Spanish by Universitat 
d'Alacant/Universidad de Alicante and Fundación Biblioteca Virtual
Miguel de Cervantes compiles over one hundred books in addition to a 
complementary lexicon which links more than 10 thousand lemmas with 
attestations of the different variants found in the documents.

corpus of historical Spanish: annotation criteria and automatic 
modernisation of spelling. Submitted to Language Resources and Evaluation.

IMPACT-es is built on two different corpora: one provided by Fundación 
Biblioteca Virtual Miguel de Cervantes from http://www.cervantesvirtual.com/ 
(file BVC.zip; partially annotated); and another provided by 
Universitat d'Alacant from the ground truth produced during the 
IMPACT project (file GT.zip; unannotated).

License

The IMPACT-es diachronic corpus and lexicon (SpanishLexicon.xml.zip) 
are distributed under CC-BY-NC-SA license (see file LICENSE.CC.BY-NC-SA.txt). 
In addition there is a compact version of the lexicon (SpanishLexicon-compact.xml.zip)
containing no attestations from the corpus that is distributed both 
under the CC-BY-SA (see file LICENSE.CC.BY-SA.txt) and GPL3 
(see file LICENSE.GPL.txt) licenses.

The building and annotation of the corpus has been supported by the 
European Commission under the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) through 
the IMPACT (IMproving ACcess to Text) project (www.impact-project.eu) and 
it is distributed by the IMPACT Centre of Competence in digitisation 
(www.digitisation.eu)
