Virtual Transcription Laboratory

Virtual Transcription Laboratory (, VTL) is a crowdsourcing platform developed by Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center to support creation of the searchable representation of historic textual documents.  It gives access to cloud-based Optical Character Recognition (OCR) service and handy transcription editor, which allows to perform post-correction of OCR results. VTL was designed to support collaborative development of transcription, it features user activity statistics and dedicated quality assurance tools which allows to check the quality of the volunteers work. VTL is publicaly available since September 2012. At the moment over 200 of registered users are working on more than 300 of transcription projects.
