Recommendations for digitisation projects

succeed_black_greenThis recommendations have been produced by Succeed (a project funded by European Union under FP7-ICT).

Succeed project provides a set of recommendations on formats and standards related to digitization activities, especially in the context of text/printed materials. The recommendations were identified based on existing recommendations, ongoing and emerging activities as well as an analysis of a dedicated survey conducted among digitization practitioners from various institutions across the world, including museums, libraries and archives.

The analysis/documents that determined the recommendations include three main parts: a summary of existing recommendations, a summary of related ongoing and emerging activities and analysis of the survey conducted among digitization practitioners. Altogether analysis covered 17 existing recommendations or practices, over a dozen of ongoing and emerging activities identified and 86 responses to the survey. Details can be found in the Succeed 600555 D4.1 RecommendationsOnFormatsAndStandards prepared by Succeed consortium.

Succeed recommendations are summarized here and the more extensive description/rationale for them is available here.

Succeed recommendations were prepared in the framework of Succeed project, which is supported by the European Union under FP7-ICT and coordinated by Universidad de Alicante.
